Notre Dame Idea Center: Founders
Purpose:
Get: Notre Dame students + alumni
Who: Are interested in entrepreneurship + innovation
To: See Notre Dame in a new light
By: Showcasing successful alumni entrepreneurs
The Idea:
The University of Notre Dame is best known for its Catholic faith and its football program. The Fighting Irish are less known for alumni entrepreneurs who have launched companies like alcohol delivery company Drizly that exited to Uber for over a billion dollars. Cheers!
The IDEA Center at Notre Dame launched the FouNDers series of profiles to call attention to university alumni who have started a wide range of companies from an online floral company (Bouqs) to a self-winding hair curler (Beachwaver) to a cure for cancer in dogs (Torigen) and many more. Each profile captures the Founder’s entrepreneurial journey and ends with advice to those who want to start a company, specifically students. The profiles are shared on the IDEA Center website and its social platforms. Over the course of a four-year engagement, Lux wrote more than 170 FouNDers profiles plus some 50 student and faculty profiles and press releases.
See the entire FouNDers series here. You just may know some of these Fighting Irish.
