The Idea:
When people think of startups and investing, they natural think of Silicon Valley, Boston and New York. Who thinks of the Midwest, which is best known as “flyover country.”
Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, VisionTech is one of the most active angel investing groups in the Midwest. Instead of shying away from VisionTech’s corn belt roots, Lux recommended they lean into them. The banner videos are a corn field (naturally), the Indianapolis 500 and the iconic Monument Circle. The copy is tongue in cheek but pointed. The calls to action are clear: Invest with Us, Pitch Us, Connect with Us. Photos of our investors and portfolio company CEOs reflect the diversity of our membership and our investment approach. And don’t forget the home page scorecard. The numbers speak for themselves.
