The Idea:
Zocere, Inc., was a very early-stage startup company out of the University of New Mexico that had developed a neuroprotectant drug to help those suffering an ischemic stroke avoid brain injury. Because the company and the technology was so new, Zocere’s brand and messaging had to immediately connect with investors and convey the problem and solution.
As the brand consultant, Lux created a “brain” logo and brain protection messaging. For investor pitches and trade shows, we made red hard hats with the brain logo for the presenter to wear as an ice breaker. At first the client laughed at the idea, but when he used the Zocere hard hat prop, people loved it. Zocere’s first pitch deck (shown) very simply, succinctly, and memorably presents the issue and the powerful solution.
