My Story

Free-Range Writer, Adventurer, Pet-Loving House Flipper

My talent for writing came to me early, fueled by an insatiable appetite for books (five to seven per week as a kid). I was the copy editor of my high school’s award-winning yearbook and went on to become a reporter for the San Antonio Express-News, landing several front page, above-the-fold stories. When I saw my byline, I knew I was famous!

Fast-forward a few years that included two kids, and lots of horses, dogs and houses. I continue to write, primarily in B2B in many industries but also welcome B2C. My writing assignments have taken me to Germany, Belgium, the U.K., India, China, and across the United States long before there was a Zoom or Teams. I’ve written just about everything. (Check out my services.) I am forever grateful to the clients who tapped me to help launch companies and products, power the world with renewables, introduce new technologies, save the planet and a statewide trauma system, and change lives for the better through my writing, branding and communications strategies. Well-written, visual communications are powerful. They connect. Inspire. And live on. Ask me about my favorite projects.

Words and pictures aren’t the only things in my life. I have a passion for the American West and a tale to tell about a horse named Rattlesnake that auditioned for the rodeo with me on him. I have temporarily exchanged rank horses for adoring dogs, but haven’t given up on my cowboy boots. Ask me about the Chinese dragon boots. I collect art and artist friends. And I love to renovate and flip houses and have been known to make a buck or two, even when it took selling an old Navajo rug to pay the final contractor. Hey, you do what you have do to get a project over the line.

That’s my story. What’s yours?
